Lexington KY Attic Restoration & Wildlife Damage Remediation
The majority of the wildlife removal services we provide revolve around the intrusion of animals into the attic spaces of our homes. Mice, bats, snakes, birds, rats, squirrels, raccoons, are all species that we regularly observe invading and subsequently remove from our client’s attics. While the presence of an animal in your attic will always result in some damage, including insulation compaction, nesting debris presence, animal feces (AKA animal droppings) and urine deposition in the insulation; the need for attic restoration varies. Typically the longer a wildlife issue occurs in an attic the greater the need for restoration becomes. However, worry not, we can completely restore your attic as if the animal damage never happened by using specialized equipment to safely remove animal waste and insulation, and then replacing the insulation with new. Often with the new insulation we can achieve higher R-values than the starting point providing an additional benefit of decreased heating and cooling bills.
Following the process of animal removal and exterior repair and exclusion work an attic restoration can be performed. Insulation vacuums shuttle the animal waste and insulation out of the attic and into containment for disposal. These pictures show the equipment and Team Trifecta Specialists during the damaged insulation removal process.
The picture to the left shows an attic space that had had severe raccoon damage to the insulation post insulation and waste removal (damage included insulation compaction and displacement, also an abundance of raccoon feces and urine deposits). The space can now be sanitized and prepared for installation of new insulation.
Now insulation can go back in! Batted insulation is replaced in wall and vaulted type spaces, and blown insulation above ceiling spaces is replaced with a specialized insulation blower as seen in the pictures to the right.
Upon completion, seen in this final picture, the space is completely restored as if the damage never occurred! While we know the costs of attic restoration are not enjoyable to incur, it is very satisfying to serve our clients well and in full circle with complete resolution of a wildlife issue. Insurance will occasionally approve claims for attic restoration as well, and we can assist in communications with providers.
